Building Peace at the Community Level

Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace is a federally incorporated non-governmental organization that promotions peace education through community-based initiatives. Our major projects are our Annual Conferences on Peace Education in Canada, Peace Cafés, and the School Peace Program.

Peace Education Conferences

Every year we host Peace Education conferences that have varied in scope from national to regional. Our next conference is November 12 through 15, 2010.

Peace Cafés: Community Centres for Teaching Peace

We're developing a network of fair-trade, organic, local-community centric Peace Cafés to help support communities develop local cultures of peace and nonviolence.

The School Peace Program

To help facilitate the development of sustainable peace education in the formal education sector, we are actively developing a School Peace Program.
