Read the journey of Anne-Marie Collette and her assistant Erin Hulme as they continue their work to develop the School Peace Education Framework.
The Maritimes are calling me home... is it for real? Could it be?
I was vacationing in the Moncton area since July 16th, relaxing on the beaches, visiting my family and eating poutines râpées (an Acadian delicacy) at Chez Léa, in a magical and mystical place called Bouctouche to help me slow down and reconnect with Mother Nature.
In this state of euphoria, I set up an appointment with Maurice LeBlanc, director of FSM who is a member of the committee spearheading the Community Peace Center (Check it out: www.communitypeacecentre.ca/index.php). I thought it would be just a simple informal conversation to get information on their vision and goals. To my surprise this first meeting led to a second one with 2 more members wishing to connect with me. An offer was put on the table... as of last week, we at CCTP will have an active presence in the creation of the Peace Center that will open its doors in June 2011. Wow!!!
Now, to top this all off, a gem of a place is waiting for me... I found a home/ a piece of heaven on earth, on the oceanfront in Shediac in order to be a part of this dream. This will be the perfect place to add the final touches on the School Peace Education Framework Manuscript.
“Only a human being can foster another human being. It takes a truly humanistic person to raise a truly humanistic person. Schoolteachers and others dedicated to developing people carry out a task of immeasurable value. The effects of this task will last forever.” - Soka Education
